    Hey Jim,

Good to hear we have some engineers out here who want to further performance! This jus occured to me, have you seen the 97>PRELUDE supercharger setup? Well, if you havent, they mount the BLOWERR ON TOP of the manifold! Now, i understand there would be significant HOOD CLEARANCE issures, but thats the price you pay for performance, you dont see BLOWN 454 CHEVY ENGINES WITH STOCK HOODS EITHER! smile

You say hafta machine out a new manifold.....well that would be perfect then...with the blower on top, you could use a ram air hood to push air over the "heatsink" of the M90!

As for the pulley clearing the brake resivoirs, im lost there....maybe it would clear when you got it all together, who knows....

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK THOUGH!

    Thanks,
    Tony

I hear of everyone upgrading boost, and even myself being curious about that, plus theorys and ideas on cooling the boost...

Has anyone ever thought of switching BLOWERS? I know the M90 is bigger, but are the BLOWER TO MANIFOLD bolt up patterns the same? I believe there is enough space to squeeze one of these in an Integra, but i could be wrong?

Seems if you could run the M90 at 7 to 10 Psi, the charged air would be cooler due to les spin by the blower.

Jus my opinions, looking for facts and/or answers.

    Thanx,
    Tony

    Tony,

I have been working on this very same idea for some time. Once I prove myself with a M62, an M90 will be waiting for me.

The manifold will have to be redesigned and the clearance between the blower and Oil seperator box will have to be addressed, but the rest seems to be do-able.

And yes... the air temps will drop significantly, and thus, more power will be made.

    Tony,

The reason that JR mounted the blower on top is that the kit uses the bottom half of the OE intake manifold... and it looks great this way !!!
Anyway, we cannot use the same orientation for two reasons: First, as you mentioned, we would have a terrible clearance problem with the master cylinder and brake lines. Everything would have to be relocated... or the blower would have to be offset like the Prelude which would necessitate the "jackshaft" pulley design... and there is not much room for this. Second, the motor "cants" the wrong direction, so the intake manifold would have a really tight bend in it just before the head. This is not an optimum design, and an increase in intake charge temp (as well as the velocity) would increase dramatically... otherwise, you would have to put a 4" cowl induction hood on the car just for clearance.
